In the framework of the project “NO TO VIOLENCE IN THE FAMILY AND SOCIETY”, people from different countries talk about the fact that a person, as a part of society, is responsible for what is happening around. It is necessary that the problem of violence be addressed at the state level, that that famous people talk about it.
But it is equally important to act on our own, to serve as an example to others, to be more sensitive, to have wider views. To interact and communicate with each other, using modern technologies, in order to jointly realize what is good and what is bad, to find ideas, ways to solve different issues in a creative way.

_____________
Olga: What should be the attitude of a person towards violence in the family and society?
Mary (Detroit, Michigan): I feel like, you know, violence is bad. I feel like that should just be the general opinion.
Maro (Detroit, Michigan): I agree with that. In some cases I do kind of believe in sort of self-defense a violence is needed. It's my stance on it.
Antonio: I don't think you should touch anyone, if unless not for self-defense. I don't think you have the right to put your hands on anyone if they do not put their hands on you. Everyone needs to be more sympathetic and more caring to all the issues at hand.
Tommy (Macomb, Michigan): I guess a willingness to change so you will definitely be open to new ideas. And I'm trying to do better and open to new experiences. Definitely we don't all live the same life, and I think you need to definitely look at other people's situations, and have a broader mindset to come up with change that can help everybody.
Olga: So what are some ways not to be silent about the issues such as violence so it does not become the norm?
Tommy: I guess it's just to take like social media or any ways you have to kind of stand out and to communicate with other people. I definitely like they're good communities out there to express those ideas and make them heard.
A: You have to speak up against these things even if it's not happening towards you and this violent ain’t matter, it's still your responsibility to stand up and set a precedent that that's not right. Cause if we all stand by the bystander effect, that someone else is gonna do it and no one else is gonna do it, nothing else is gonna change.
Keith (Shelby, Michigan): Talk to anybody you can, anybody who will listen, good friends, other family members, counselors, the police, whoever. Whoever needs to be heard.
Maro: Probably have celebrity figures to speak out about it as well it could resolve at least a big you know part of the population to you know get a hold of that.
Mary: I think maybe get help for the people that are more violent try and help them and not violent therapy, you know, stuff like that anger issues management, those kind of things.
A: Well I think we need to start with a better presidential candidate. I think we need to start with better leaders towards our future, that are making that change, through social media changes or we're looking at modern ways to actually handle this topic such as getting out to different youths, having new events taking place that are actively going against this.
Keith: I think more education. I think that the more people are aware of the situation, the more it's out in the open, the more people will feel comfortable about speaking about things and making other people aware of it.
Olga: How do you envision a creative and constructive society?
Keith: I would say one where people are more open to everybody's different cultures and different styles. And people need to be more open to accepting other people and engage in conversation and just make each other more aware. Because when people share things they start to understand other people a little bit more.
A: I envision it being free thinking, being not afraid to say whatever you have to say, whether it goes against, controversial, whether it goes against norms what have you, if that's what you believe, it’s the best possible way to handle this topic. You should be able to speak freely about it.
TL: Y no mantenerse callada y buscar ayuda.
Y mantenerse feliz.
Tommy: It's the only way that people are going to recognize them or support them or you know have their opinions about them so it's definitely important like convey those ideas so that people can form their own opinions and then that's how people can feel heard and that's how the US society can grow and feel healthy.
Keith: Oh, I think it's very important. I think the more that has talked about, the more that people are aware of it it's a better chance to combat the violence.
A: It's very important especially in this world of modern technology and everyone being able to socially connect and network with everyone else. You can see different ideas, different norms, different cultural beliefs and how that really can form anything new.
So really striking those, looking at what is being backed up, what is being used for this talk process, and realizing whether that's good, whether that's bad, whether that needs help. And really revitalizing, revolutionizing the way that we think about new ideas.
