The floods resulted in a decrease in the quality of tap water and a shortage of drinking water.

From April 14, heavy rains with thunderstorms led to widespread flooding in many provinces of the Sultanate of Oman. Floods affected the provinces of Muscat, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhira, and Al Dhahirah.
