Nanoplastics are now found in the air, water, food, and even the human body. What impacts could they have on health and climate stability?
An international conference titled "Nanoplastics: Hidden Connections and Emerging Risks" was held at the European Parliament, organized by MEP Ondřej Knotek, a member of the Patriots for Europe group, in cooperation with the ALLATRA Global Research Center. The conference brought scientists, experts, and representatives of civil society from across Europe and the United States to Brussels.
In the interview, Ondřej Knotek speaks about:
• why he considers the topic of nanoplastics important for Europe,
• what stood out to him most at the conference,
• why it is important to open an expert discussion on emerging environmental and health risks,
• and what further steps need to be taken at both the European and global level.
