International online conference "Life After Death. Fictions and Facts", held on May 22, 2021, prompted many religious scholars, scientists, physicians, and other professions to further explore the question of the afterlife. Volunteers from different countries organize online meetings in the format of round tables to discuss topics important to every person.
The roundtable on June 5, 2021, is dedicated to such a tradition as the commemoration of the dead. Rituals that prescribe to honor the memory of deceased relatives are inherent in almost all cultures and religions. But are such traditions so harmless? Why is it customary to honor the images of the dead and carve their names on tombstones? What do the living actually give away when commemorating the dead?
The following questions will be revealed by the participants of the round table:
✔ What are the rituals and traditions of commemorating in different religions?
✔ What did the prophets say about the prohibition of commemoration?
✔ What is the danger to the living in honoring the name and image of the dead?
✔ Why is it important not to give your attention to the dead?
An honest and open discussion of the issues concerning life after death gives many people the understanding of the need for spiritual development and building a new Creative Society in which everyone can truly Live and consciously choose their after-death fate.
