From the Rostrum of the U.S. Capitol on the Spiritual Resilience of Ukraine | Vitaliy Orlov

On February 5, 2026, a landmark event took place at the U.S. Capitol, bringing the world together in support of Ukraine. The conference “Freedom Has a Name, and It’s Called Ukraine,” held under the leadership of Pastor Mark Burns — a spiritual advisor to Donald Trump — and hosted on the platform of the ALLATRA International Public Movement, became a space for open and in-depth dialogue on sovereignty and human dignity.

Vitaliy Orlov — one of the founders of “Ukrainian Week” in Washington and coordinator of the prayer movement “Intercessors for Ukraine” — addresses the critically important theme of leadership in his speech. He explains how severe trials become the foundation for the emergence of strong-spirited leaders and why the modern world finds itself at the very epicenter of a global spiritual battle.

Vitaliy shares facts about the condition of spiritual sanctuaries in Ukraine during Russia’s full-scale invasion, as well as the challenges faced by local communities. At the same time, he highlights a different, hopeful reality — the unity of hundreds of thousands of people in prayer. Today, Ukraine is home to one of the largest prayer movements in Europe, and reading the Bible and collective appeals to God have become part of everyday life, even within government offices.

A particularly meaningful moment of the speech was the official invitation extended to Pastor Mark Burns to visit Kyiv on February 24, on the National Day of Prayer for Ukraine. This presents an opportunity for spiritual leaders from around the world to unite alongside the President and the Ukrainian people, demonstrating the power of truth and solidarity.
