The World Must Unite For Peace | Myong Chong, Prof. Eric Kim

In this interview, Myong Chong, President of the Federation of Korean American Associations and an entrepreneur, together with Professor Sung Soo (Eric) Kim, Ph.D., share their perspective on the importance of international solidarity with Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing aggression.

Drawing on Korea’s historical experience of war and the difficult path of national recovery, the speakers highlighted the importance of peace and the enduring value of freedom and human dignity. They noted that the resilience of Ukrainian people, their patriotism and determination to defend their country demonstrate a profound commitment to freedom and the future of the next generations.

The speakers also emphasized the importance of international unity in supporting Ukraine and the need for global cooperation in the country’s post-war recovery. In particular, they noted that South Korea’s experience of post-war reconstruction may serve as a valuable example for Ukraine’s future economic and societal development.

Special attention in the conversation has been given to humanitarian issues, including protection of civilians and children affected by the war.

The interview was recorded as part of the International Conference “Freedom Has a Name and It’s Called Ukraine,” held on February 5, 2026, in Washington, D.C., at the Rayburn House Office Building, part of the U.S. Capitol complex, under the leadership of Pastor Mark Burns, on the platform of ALLATRA International Public Movement.

The conference brought together representatives of the U.S. Department of State, Members of the Ukrainian Parliament, military officers, religious leaders, and humanitarian representatives — all those who firmly stand in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty, its freedom, and protection of its people.
