The planet is boiling over.
The merciless heat waves sweeping the world are killing people and destroying the natural world. Coral reefs, the "underwater gardens" of the ocean, are also becoming one of the victims of the abnormal heat.
JULY 2023
☀️ UNITED STATES, FLORIDA: The recent extreme warming of the ocean has been deadly for Sombrero Reef. Scientists surveying the reef found that the corals there had died before they had even had a chance to bleach. They had effectively been boiled alive.
How and most importantly - why the ocean waters are heating up and what can be the consequences, see in our new report.

🌡️ UNITED STATES, FLORIDA: The Great Florida Reef is the third largest coral barrier reef in the world, it was formed between 5,000 and 7,000 years ago and consists of more than 6,000 individual reefs.
In July, Florida's reefs faced an unprecedented threat from the heat of the sea. The ocean off the coast of the peninsula turned into a pool of boiling water for its inhabitants.
According to the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the surface of the water around the Florida Keys has warmed to an average of 33 degrees Celsius, which is 4 degrees above the upper-temperature threshold optimal for local coral species. And on July 24, 2023, a data buoy in Manatee Bay recorded a temperature of 38.4 degrees Celsius. This is the highest ever recorded.
Nearly all of the corals in the nearby Lou Kee Nursery were also dead. And at Chica Rocks Reef, 99% of the corals are bleached. Whether they will survive their forced starvation is unknown.
According to the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, it has already lost 80% to 90% of its reef systems. Isn't the total loss of the Florida Reef waiting for us soon?
A similar question can be asked for other reef systems.
JULY 2023
☀️ EASTERN PACIFIC OCEAN & CARIBBEAN SEA: Coral bleaching has been reported off the coasts of Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Mexico in the eastern Pacific, and along the Caribbean coasts of Panama, Mexico and Belize.
Massive job losses in fisheries and tourism, a severe food crisis in coastal areas, economic collapse and physical disappearance of many island nations, lack of components for a number of life-saving medicines... This is what the loss of corals could mean for humankind.
But the irony is that humanity, that is, you and I, may not live to see that moment.
Ocean warming, which is causing coral extinction, is the manifestation of a much more dangerous process. It has devastating consequences for the planet, for each and every one of us.
🌊 The ocean is called the weather kitchen. The heating of its waters is already intensifying catastrophic typhoons and hurricanes that claim thousands of human lives every year.
The unprecedented scale of ocean heating suggests that the ocean is already exhausting its ability to contain the energy trying to escape from the bowels of the earth. And when magma reaches the denser and thicker rocks of the continental crust, which is on average two to three times thicker than the oceanic crust, then the processes of cascading eruptions of terrestrial volcanoes will begin, and it will be too late to stop this process or to look for rescue.
⚠️ The ocean is the lifeblood of the planet and of us humans. But we have only a few years to reverse the process. The facts and statistics that the world's media is silent about are laid out in a climate science report published on the Creative Society Channel.
