On January 15, 2020 temperatures in some parts of Oman dropped to below zero on Wednesday as heavy rain caused flooding.
On the highest mountain in the Arabian Peninsula, Jabal Shams, the temperature dropped to -2 °C. Heavy rain and snow have blocked roads.
Strong winds and rain caused chaos in and around the capital of Oman, Muscat.
On January 17, 2020 the eastern part of the Canadian island of Newfoundland was covered by a strong winter storm. Due to extreme weather in the capital St. John's, a state of emergency was declared for the first time in 36 years. On the island, several thousand households were left without electricity.
On January 19, 2020, dust storms and heavy rains fell in southeast Australia. The element affected the states of New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.
In Canberra, heavy rains took place, at which gusts of wind reached a speed of 117 (one hundred seventeen) km / h, cutting off power lines. A large hail, sometimes the size of a baseball, broke windows of houses and cars. As a result, thousands of city buildings are damaged, flooded or without power.Severe Floods → Oman, Indonesia.
